Himachal Administrative Service Exam-2017

This year in 2017 HPPSC is recruiting for following Posts and Number of posts are given below for more detail ,you can check link above.

Exam Pattern

There are three Phases of Himachal Pradesh Administrative examination these are
1.   Preliminary Examination
2.   Mains Examination
3.   Viva-voce

Preliminary Examination

First exam in Himachal Pradesh combined competitive examination is preliminary examination which carries two papers
-  Paper 1  (Paper 1 is of 200 Marks with 100 multiple choices questions).
-  Paper 2 ( Paper 2 carries 200 marks with 100 multiple choices questions).
Syllabus of paper 1 and Paper 2 is given below.

Syllabus of Exam

    • Paper 1
      • - History, geography, political, art & culture and sociology-economic development of Himachal Pradesh.
        - Currents events of national and international importance.
        - History of India and Indian national movement.
        - Indian and World Geography-physical, social, economic geography of India and the world.
        -  Indian polity and governance –Constitution, political system, Panchayati Raj, Public Policy, Rights issues, etc.
        - Economic and social development – sustainable development poverty, inclusion, demographics, social sector initiatives, etc.
        - General issues on environmental ecology, bio-diversity and climate Change – that do not require subject specialization.
        - General science.
    • Paper 2
      • - Comprehension
        - Interpersonal skills including communication skills
        - Logical reasoning and analytical ability ,Decision making and problem solving,General mental ability.
        - Basic numeracy (numbers and their relations, orders of magnitude etc. (Class X level), Data interpretation (charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency etc. – Class X level).
        - English Language comprehension skills (Class X level).

Preliminary examination is compulsory paper which is objective type and carry 400 marks with 200 multiple choices questions.
Candidates for main exam will be selected on 20 times to the examination vacancies. Candidates those who will pass preliminary examination will appear in Mains Examination.

Mains Examination

Candidates who will pass preliminary examination will be selected for Mains Exam.
Candidates will be selected as 20 times of total vacancies .
Compulsory Examination in Mains Exam
- Paper 1 : English (100 marks)
- Paper 2 : Hindi (100 Marks)
- Paper 3 : Essay (100 Marks)
- Paper 4 : GK-1 (200 Marks)
- Paper 5 : Gk-2 (200 Marks)
- Paper 6 : GK-3 (200 Marks)

Viva-voce

In viva-voce , Mains Examination passed Candidates will be asked for Viva Voce.
Marks obtained in Preliminary examination by candidates will not be counted for the purpose of final order of merit.
Marks obtained in the Main written
examination as well as in the viva-voce test would determine their final merit for
selection.
The option exercised by the candidates will be taken into consideration while
determining their order of merit for selection to the various posts/services.
